SCAD Montgomery House Parking Garage
A 400-space parking structure for a university's downtown micro-campus
Our firm provided Engineer of Record services for the 400-space parking structure, which was previously the historic Neal-Blun Warehouse, and the renovation of several historic buildings on this former industrial site. This site has recently been rehabilitated into a micro-campus for the Savannah College of Art and Design.
The parking garage is constructed of precast concrete walls and double tees, and the foundation is comprised of 18" diameter augured cast-in-place concrete piles. The renovation required extensive field investigation, material testing, and documentation to facilitate the design of repairs and reinforcement of the heavy timber trusses and braced frames.
