We are particularly experienced with adaptive reuse projects, which focus on alterations and additions to existing facilities to accommodate new occupancies. Our firm is routinely tasked with analyzing and repairing historic and antiquated structural systems, and we are experts on current code requirements corresponding to the modification of such systems. We are recognized for our ability to utilize this knowledge in order to incorporate preservation technology and period appropriate materials into existing historic structures, many of which are more than 200 years old in our practice area.

In addition to our design capabilities, our engineers have specialized experience in performing investigation and assessment of existing structures to identify deficiencies and to determine the best methods of repair, stabilization, and reuse for new occupancies. A specific benefit of our investigation and assessment experience is realized in the early stages of development. Having dealt with the challenges of seismic and wind engineering for over 12 years in the area, our firm has the knowledge and experience necessary to provide our clients with safe, cost-effective, and constructible designs that will withstand all environmental constraints.
We are a learning-based firm, and each of our engineers spends 20 hours per year, on average, on continuing education and professional development. We utilize Building Information Modeling (Autodesk Revit) for 100% of our design documentation and the most current and advanced software for analysis and design.
