Tharpe Engineering Group, is located in Savannah, Georgia, just minutes from the Atlantic Ocean and 125 miles south of Charleston, South Carolina, one of the most seismically active areas in the Eastern United States. These geographic features create a unique and challenging environment in which to practice structural engineering. Having dealt with the challenges of seismic and wind engineering for over seventeen years in this area, our firm has the knowledge and experience necessary to provide our clients with safe, cost-effective, and constructible designs that will withstand all environmental constraints.

Our management staff brings experience ranging from underwater structural investigation and hands-on construction to university-level instruction and research positions.
Our team is highly effective in all aspects of structural engineering, including preliminary conceptual design, cost-estimating, design calculations, building information modeling, construction document preparation, design review, and on-site inspections. Our particular expertise includes structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry and timber structures located in high seismic and wind velocity regions. We also hold a distinct aptitude for adaptive reuse and historic preservation projects.
