Premier parking structure in a historic downtown setting for a premier hotel chain

Tharpe Engineering Group served as the Structural Engineer of Record for this 6-level, 300-space parking garage, which provides parking for both the Fairfield Inn & Suites and the new Aloft Hotel in Savannah's downtown Historic District. The garage is constructed of a total precast concrete structural system supported by rammed aggregate pier foundations.

Careful consideration was given to the design and placement of foundation elements to accommodate the construction of the basement and pool at the adjacent Aloft Hotel project and to facilitate the installation of an underground stormwater detention system.
