A unified design with distinct areas for smaller, personalized student groups
This is a new 121,985 square foot school campus designed to accommodate approximately 1,200 students in kindergarten through twelfth grades. All areas of the school are internally connected by a central spine with groupings of classrooms fingering off of it. The school has distinct elementary school (grades K-5), middle school (grades 6-8), and high school (grades 9-12) areas, allowing for smaller and more personable student population groupings. Though located off of the same central spine, the elementary school grouping has its own independent supporting infrastructure, including a main entry, controlling interaction between younger and older students.
The facility also includes full administrative offices, all school multipurpose/cafetorium space, elementary multipurpose space, a stage, and kitchen areas. A 31,105 square foot gymnasium and classroom building addition were subsequently constructed, resulting in a total campus building area of 153,090 square feet on the 20-acre site. The primary structural system consists of a load-bearing cold formed steel framing, CMU, and conventional structural steel with long span trusses.
